Privacy notice
Last updated 20 October 2026
ClassPlay keeps only what it needs to run teachers' activities. There are no adverts, no tracking tools and no selling of information. Students do not create accounts.
Who runs ClassPlay
ClassPlay (kemachq.com) is an independent classroom project run by its owner in the United States. Questions, requests to see or delete information, and complaints go to kemach@kemachq.com.
What we collect
- Teacher accounts: email address, display name and password. Passwords are handled by our sign-in provider and are never stored in readable form.
- Teaching content: the activities, folders, words, pictures and voice recordings you add, and your settings.
- Signed-in browsers: a name for each browser and when it signed in, so we can apply the five-browser limit and protect your account.
- Membership: your membership type, any code you redeem and your activity count.
- Assignments: when a teacher shares an assignment, the name a student types and their answers and scores, so the teacher can see results.
- Picture search: the words you type into picture search are sent to the search provider to find images.
- Technical: a sign-in cookie, and your IP address, used briefly in memory to stop abuse. Drafts and preferences are kept in your own browser's storage.
Children and students
ClassPlay is made for teachers of children aged 5–10. Students play through a teacher's link and never create an account. Teachers and schools are responsible for having permission from a parent or guardian before a child's name or work is entered. Please ask students to use a first name or a nickname, and do not upload photos of pupils. A parent or guardian can ask us to delete a child's information by writing to kemach@kemachq.com.
Who processes information for us
- Supabase: accounts, database and private file storage.
- Render: the web servers that run ClassPlay.
- Resend: account emails such as confirmation and password reset.
- Picture search providers: the words you search for.
These services are located outside mainland China. If you use ClassPlay from mainland China, your information is transferred to and stored outside China.
What becomes public
Activities are private unless you share them. A shared link lets anyone with the link play the activity. If you publish an activity in Community, its title, content and your display name are visible to other users until you unpublish it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and content until you delete them or ask us to delete your account. Deleted activities stay in your Bin until you empty it. Assignment results stay until the teacher deletes the assignment or their account. We act on deletion requests within 30 days.
Your choices and rights
You can see, correct and download your information from your account and library, and ask us to delete it. You can withdraw consent by deleting your account. Depending on where you live, laws such as the UK GDPR, China's Personal Information Protection Law or US state privacy laws may give you further rights; write to us and we will help.
Changes
If this notice changes, we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell signed-in teachers.
